WHAT IS FOCUS?

FOCUS provides an atmosphere where members can find support and encouragement through positive social and professional interaction, while promoting a positive voice for, and presenting a positive image of, gays and lesbians within the greater community.

FOCUS began 10 years ago as a means of unifying the GLBT community of Springfield. Since then, FOCUS has strived to leave a lasting impression that promotes acceptance within the community.

FOCUS participates in many local fundraising events and also provides support to organizations representing the state of Missouri. Our members represent the GLBT community of Southwest Missouri in a positive light; in addition to social and fundraising activities, we provide a scholarship annually to students--within the GLBT community--that wish to expand their education.
